Community Foundation Announces Environmental Scholarship

Ruth Oja Environmental Scholarship Available to Students who are Residents of Red Hook, NY

Red Hook, NY – Established by the Red Hook Town Conservation Advisory Council in honor of Ruth Oja, this scholarship is available to college bound graduating high school seniors or the home-schooled equivalent who are residents of Red Hook, NY, pursuing studies in environmental science or a related discipline.  Students must demonstrate sensitivity to the environment through leadership/participation in pro-environmental programs such as recycling, land conservancy, environmental cleanup projects, etc.  This scholarship shall be applied to tuition costs at an accredited college, university or trade school.   One $500 scholarship will be awarded this fall.
