Community Foundation Announces Environmental Scholarship
Ruth Oja Environmental Scholarship Available to Students who are Residents of Red Hook, NY Red Hook, NY – Established by the Red Hook Town Conservation Advisory Council in honor of Ruth Oja, this scholarship is available to college bound graduating high school seniors or the home-schooled equivalent who are residents of Red Hook, NY, pursuing studies in environmental science or a related discipline. Students must demonstrate sensitivity to the environment through leadership/participation in pro-environmental programs such as recycling, land conservancy, environmental cleanup projects, etc. This scholarship shall be applied to tuition costs at an accredited college, university or trade school. One $500 scholarship will be awarded this fall. Visit the Foundation’s searchable Scholarship Directory at www.cfdcny.org. The Application Deadline is April 1, 2010. Established in 1969, the Community Foundation of Dutchess County has been a driving force of affordable philanthropy in our region.
