Scholarship Available to Hudson Valley Females Pursuing a Career in Physical Therapy

Community Foundation Announces the Jennifer Coudrey Memorial Scholarship

Poughkeepsie, NY - The Community Foundation of Dutchess County announces the availability of the Jennifer Coudrey Memorial Scholarship.  One scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded this fall.

Jennifer Coudrey was the morning show co-host on 92.7 / 96.9 WRRV from 2000-2004.  Jen’s quick wit, sarcastic sense of humor and bright smile made her very popular with the listeners and everyone she came in contact with at the radio station. During her time at WRRV, Jen was diagnosed with Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer.  Sadly, Jen’s battle ended in 2009.

WRRV founded the Jennifer Coudrey Memorial Scholarship Fund in 2009 to remember Jen and inspire young women to pursue their goals, no matter how unattainable they may seem.  Before Jen started in radio, she studied and become a successful Physical Therapist.  At Peak Physical Therapy in Newburgh, Jen’s sense of humor and sunny attitude brought joy and relief to many of her patients.  The same fun-loving personality that entertained radio listeners in the Hudson Valley became a source of comfort for patients who were in pain.

The Jennifer Coudrey Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to young women in the Hudson Valley who share Jen’s positive attitude, desire to help others and determination to work hard pursuing a career in physical therapy.  Scholarships will be awarded to individuals who will be full time students at any accredited college or university in the United States. The scholarship is not renewable.
