Application Procedures
How do I apply? Unless otherwise directed in a specific scholarship description, complete the application form located at the back of this booklet and send it to the Community Foundation of Dutchess County, along with the supporting materials listed below. Please feel free to make additional copies of the application form provided or download the application from the Foundation’s Web site at www.cfdcny.org. The application is available as a Word file to facilitate typing your application. A complete application includes: - A completed and signed application form
- Essay discussing your special interests, career goals, and activities (no more than one page please). Some scholarships may ask for an essay on a different topic. When requested, that essay should replace the topic mentioned above.
- Most recent high school or college transcript
- Copy of your Student Aid Report (SAR) and Expected Family Contribution (EFC) information, which you will receive when you complete and submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Two current letters of recommendation from teachers, clergy or persons other than family members who are familiar with your skills and abilities. Some scholarships may specify recommendations from specific individuals.
- Any additional attachments listed in the description of the scholarship fund to which you are applying
When is the application deadline? Your application and all related attachments must be postmarked by April 1 (or the following business day if April 1 falls on a Sunday).
