More than 525 individuals, families, businesses and nonprofits have chosen the Community Foundations serving Dutchess, UIster and Putnam Counties as their preferred charitable giving vehicle and have created charitable legacies by establishing funds within the Community Foundation. We are honored to serve as the steward of these funds as each donor strives to make our community a better place. Click on the links below to view our lists of funds.
Unrestricted Funds are not specifically designated for use by any particular agency, cause or area of interest allowing our local Board of Trustees to respond to the pressing and often changing charitable needs in the community today and forever.
Field of Interest Funds are established to support particular interest areas, specific program initiatives, causes or geographic areas at the donor’s request, but flexibility remains to meet changing situations.
Designated Funds are created by donors who wish to support one or more specific agencies or causes.
Donor Advised Funds are a perfect alternative to creating a private foundation, and are established by donors who wish to actively participate in the grant-making process by recommending charitable projects and/or organizations they want to support.
Nonprofit Organization Endowment Funds are established by many nonprofits to grow assets that can provide a relatively constant source of annual income and help maintain their mission in perpetuity to meet both current and future needs.
Project Funds are used by organizations who are in the process of filing for 501(c)(3) status. In some cases, the Community Foundation establishes Project Funds to serve as the 501(c)(3) organization for charitable causes so individuals or groups can avoid the time and expense of creating one. Scholarship Funds can benefit students at any education level, particular field of study, or specific situation, and can be established to honor or memorialize a loved one. |
