As a public charity, the Community Foundation (legal name, The Area Fund) makes a point of operating in an open manner that welcomes scrutiny. We take our obligation to donors, community groups, and the public very seriously. Accordingly, our federal tax return and audited financial statements are posted on our Web site and are on file with the New York State Attorney General.
June 30, 1996, the Foundation’s endowment was $5.4 million. As of March 31, 2010, assets have grown to $29.6 million.
