Four organizations have received grants totaling $6,000 from the Bertha Effron Fund. Jewish Family Services of DutchessCounty $2,000 Support for Mitzvah Day, an annual community event in which volunteers from the Jewish community and their friends of all faiths provide help to local charitable and non-profit organizations.
Poughkeepsie Public Library District $2,000 Support for a month-long exhibit and series of programs entitled, “A Fine Romance: Jewish Songwriters, American Songs 1910-1965." This project will highlight and explain the contribution of Jewish songwriters to American culture.
